Nicola Loud is one of the most versatile and successful violinists of her generation. She first came to prominence at the age of fifteen, when she won the high-profile television competition 'BBC Young Musician of the Year'.
A former pupil of Sheila Nelson, she studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London with György Pauk and then with Cho-Liang Lin at the Juilliard School of Music in New York. A regular on the concert platform, she has appeared numerous times as soloist with many major orchestras in the UK such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hallé, the BBC Concert Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Abroad, her career highlights include critically acclaimed tours of both the USA and Mexico with the BBC Concert and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras.
